Winter Zoo Trip

We were able to take advantage of the unseasonable warm weather by taking a trip to the zoo. While not all the animals are out in the winter we were able to see the wolves, snow leopard, cougars, coyotes and bears running wild. They all seem to be enjoying the warmer weather as much as we were.

First Ice Sculpture

We took a ride into Boston to see the first ice sculpture to be displayed as part of the First Night Celebration. It is a giant sea turtle and located in front of the Aquarium. When we stopped there, Tristan was able to catch the aquarium staff feeding the sea lions.

Christmas Day

We had Christmas Dinner at Yaya's house. They had lost power so we weren't sure we were going to have our traditional stuffed shells for dinner but as soon as we arrived the lights went back on. Stuffed shells for everyone :) Tristan spent the afternoon playing floor hockey and other games with his cousins Zack and Julia. Avery had fun following everyone around and playing with her new toys.

Christmas Morning

Tristan promptly uttered the words "Amazing" as he entered the living room where Santa left all of the new toys. Both kids were excited to see that Santa had eaten all of there cookies, the reindeer had eaten all of the carrots and Santa had left them a note. Avery was thrilled with her Bitty Baby Doll, doll high chair, doll cradle, tea set and pretend food. Tristan was thrilled with his remote controlled train set, Cooties and Cariboo games, sticker books and new animals for his jungle toy.

Preggo Pics

My SIL is due about 7 weeks after me. We are both having girls and grabbed a few shots of our bellies. We are about 35 and 28 weeks at this point.

Every Christmas Eve we spend the night at Uncle Chuck's house enjoying a fish feast. We have baked stuffed lobsters, baked stuffed shrimp, regular shrimp, crab, steamers, fish, calamari, and many other things. Everything was so good. Tristan even got the courage to try some steamers and crab this year. Both kids got to open some of their presents. When we got home we made cookies for Santa and left out carrots for the reindeer.

Avery in Drawer

Avery likes to hang out in the diaper drawer. Don't ask.

Helmet Heads

Tristan got a new hockey helmet to wear for skating and of course Avery and Daddy couldn't resist a chance to wear their helmets too.

Science Musuem

We ventured out to the Musuem of Science with our friends Nathaniel and Charlotte for a morning of fun. Tristan and Avery loved the Tamarin monkeys and the dinosaurs. Both kids really liked the children's room where they had a huge bullfrog, big hissing cockroach and a chipmunk.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Both kids took an active part in decorating the Christmas Tree this year. Last year we had to keep our ornaments on the top of the tree but we have advanced this year and now have a tree full of ornaments. After decorating the tree, we had some popcorn and watched Frosty the Snowman before bed.

Getting our Christmas Tree

The kids were very excited to go pick out our Christmas Tree this year. Tristan wanted to pick out the tree on his own. We led him to the right section of the tree farm and he was able to pick out a pretty great tree.

Avery being Silly!!

Avery loves to wear pigtails and Tristan's swimming bubble (outside of the pool only).

Tristan is officially a skater!!

Tristan had his first ice skating lesson at the Burlington Ice Palace. This was his first time(of many to come) on skates. Mommy, Daddy, Avery, Yaya, Uncle Jared and Jess were all there to cheer him on. He did better than expected and actually lasted the whole 50 minutes. He was thrilled with his orange sticker that he got for being in the class.

Zoo Lights

Each year we venture to the Stone Zoo to see the Zoo Lights. This year we went on Thanksgiving night with a whole entourage of people including, Nonnie, Bump, Auntie, Uncle Melon, Tommy, Josh, Caiden, Uncle Chad and many, many more!! We saw the reindeer and the meerkats and even had our picture taken with Santa.
